Product Description The Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2X is one of the new iPod interfaces that perfectly bridges the gap between the simplicity of an auxiliary input converter and sophistication of vehicle-specific, line level matching and iPod charging that comes with an iPod bottom-connector interface, all at an extremely affordable price point. The new Blitzsafe iPod interface connects through the bottom connector of the iPod to insure that the audio you hear is the cleanest possible from your iPod and the Blitzsafe vehicle-specific interface insures that the line level out of the iPod perfectly matches the input level requirements of your specific factory radio. While your iPod is connected, it is being charged and will continue to charge for 20 minutes after the car is turned off. This unique designs insures the iPod is never over-charged and that your battery is never under a constant drain. Installation is easy as this device connects to the 14-pin rectangler CD changer connector in the rear of the factory radio.

Not bad for the money. July 16, 2010 MaddogChiu (Nor Cal, United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a 2005 Honda Accord and a 4th generation iPod (yeah, old school).
It took me about 2 hours to installed and I used this helpful site as a reference:
[...]I ordered the Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2X Honda/Acura iPod Interface after my Dension Ice-Link iPod Interface stopped working. I used the ICE-Link (no longer available in the market) for 5 years.
I'm going to compare the 2 products although it's not fair to compare a new product I just got for only 3-4 days, versus an older product that does not even exist in the market anymore. However, I think the comparison will shed more light to this Blitzsafe product and where it might stands in the market:
COST:
Blitzsafe is less a hundred - Dension Ice-Link was over hundreds.
USER'S INTERFACE:
I preferred Dension -> My accord saw the device as a 6CD Changer, so the car's existing audio system can control the iPod & I did not need to touch the iPod at all. The first 5 playlists would act like a disc to the car's audio system. The rest of the playlists can be placed as well, although I will have to pull the iPod out, select the playlist and plug it back in. When the car engine is shut off, the Dension would automatically pause the iPod so when I start the car again, the iPod would play the song where I left off.
The Blitzsafe only transfer the audio from the iPod to the audio system and charges the iPod. Nothing more. I can only adjust the volume from the audio console. Controls like changing playlist, fast forward, & skip a music has to be controlled directly on the iPod, which is not the end of the world. It's just a little less refined than the Dension ICE-Link. The big minus Blitzsafe has, however, is that it does not automatically stop or pause the iPod when I shut off the car. The Blitzsafe will turn off the iPod 20 minutes later. When you start the engine again, you will also have to press play on the iPod. Again, Blitzsafe only plays the audio and charges the iPod and nothing more.
[update 8/18/2010 - it seems like Blitz will pause the iPod 5 seconds after the car is shut down. Although it does not pause immediate, it's better leaving the iPod to continue to play for minutes.]
RELIABILITY:
Again, I only have the Blitzsafe for 3-4 days so I can't totally give a fair comparison for now. With that said, I think the Blitzsafe seems to be more reliable. The Dension Ice-Link has crashed more than I can count in hot weather, when the heater is on, or with no real reason. When that happens, I would had to re-boot the Dension ICE-Link by shutting the car off, or pulling the fuse from the car's fuse box, or pulling the iPod out and plug it back in.
I think the reason why the Blitzsafe is more reliable is because it's a simpler product with no advance U.I. to complicate the connections.
COMPATIBILITY:
Blitzsafe won this category. It's compatible to all Nano's, iPhones, iPads, & iPod Touches thus far, at least on paper since I had never tried the other devices with it. In Dension's defense, the ICE-Link is an older product (not to mention that it's no longer available).
[update 8/18/2101- I tried my friend's iPhone 3GS and it worked perfectly. The only thing I noticed is that the iPhone will provide a warning saying that the charger is not a secured charger.]
I know that Dension has a product called Gateway which is probably the next generation to the ICE-Link I had and it's probably a good product, but my car is 5 years old now, so I did not want to spend a lot of money onto it.
Works well, but doesn't charge the 3G iPhone October 14, 2008 HDfridge (Pensacola, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great product for a do-it-yourself iPod install. It charges my 3rd generation iPod (also called 3G back in the day), but it doesn't charge the 3G iPhone. Apparently none of the other adapters do either. Audio quality is very good, especially when compared to FM transmitters.
As Advertised March 27, 2010 Amazonuser (USA) This product works as advertised. It will connect your Ipod to the stock radio from a Honda Accord.
Installation will require 1&1/2 to 2 Hrs (Not the Easiest). And I recomend you get all your stuff together before you start. Make sure you have electrical tape.
Once Installed you will navigate the Ipod through it's controls. There is no communication between the radio and the ipod. No way to control from the console except for volume.
It is great to have all the controls for the ipod; however sometimes it would be great to select next from the console rather than fumble looking for the buttons.
On turning off the car the ipod goes into pause.
With all that said I must say that I love this accesory. It lets me hear the ipod without all the static that radio transmitters carry plus the ipod is always charged.
Works just as advertised.
Very nice iPod accessory! March 25, 2010 Tracy Keeling I have been wanting to listen to my iPod in my car for a long time. I had an FM transmitter before. Those work great in rural areas but are useless in the city (you can never find a clear channel).
This product lets me play my iPod directly through my car stereo AND it charges it! My "iPod" is actually an iPhone 3G.
The sound quality is a little strange... I haven't figured out what it is yet. It seems to have slightly different qualities than the radio. It is not bad, just different. Most people probably wouldn't notice.
Anyway.. if you are just looking for a quick and (relatively) cheap way to play an iPod through your car radio, this is a good option. It does not really provide "integration" in the sense that you cannot control the iPod through the car stereo. That was okay for me, I just wanted the music to come through my car speakers. And now it does.
The only issue I had during installation was that it said to access the iPod I needed to hit "CD" on my car stereo twice. This did nothing. However, hitting "AUX" on my car stereo gave me the iPod output. This is better in my opinion anyway, so I was glad that there was this error in the install instructions!
I installed this in a 2007 Honda Fit (actually, Best Buy installed it for $50... it was hard to get access to the back of my stereo, so I let them do it).
Blitzsafe Hon/M link review February 15, 2010 T. DeYoung (Michigan) I purchased this product for use in a 2005 Honda Odyssey. With information easily found online - installation was straight forward and easy. The Blitzsafe works great and delivers excellent sound quality through the factory head unit. I would recommend this interface to anyone who simply wants to charge and listen to an ipod without replacing the factory radio.
